8 TIPS THAT WILL SAVE YOUR TRIP
It’s summer. You know what that means: travel and vacation. We all love the idea of traveling, meeting new people and seeing new sights but what can we do to prepare and make sure we have the best experience possible? Here are 8 Tips that will make your travel plans simpler and easier.
-
Book your flight in advance
We all love being spontaneous until we see the cost of leaving everything last minute. If you know the dates and place you want to visit, don’t overthink it and book!
-
Look for Deals
Everyone’s dilemma: How to treat yourself without going broke? Luckily, there’s many different websites and apps that let you know of low fare flights, even abroad. Some airlines also have rewards systems that can help you get points for future flights as well as seasonal fly sales.
-
Use Messaging Apps
Now we are at the question of how do I communicate with those at home if I’m abroad? Apps like Messenger, Whatsapp, or using the DMs of other social platforms can save you tons as opposed to using your normal cell service that more than likely will charge for data roaming.
-
Airbnb & Hostels are your friends
A hotel room OR a whole house with a pool?!’ The choice is yours. The Airbnb app lets you look at costs, amenities, and location, giving you a variety of options to choose from. Hostels, especially if you’re abroad, may be the best way to meet other people & really dive into the culture.
-
Don’t Eat Fast Food
Yes: it’s fast and it’s food but why eat old grease when you could be eating a gourmet meal. Many cities have Instagram accounts to showcase local restaurants which you can check out to find what interests you. Eat like a local.
-
Research the destination
Whether you’re traveling abroad or in the States, doing a little research can go a long way. Research can be as small as checking a hashtag on Instagram, to looking at a Wikipedia page or asking friends with recommendations. Doing this prior to your trip will help create expectations & make you more knowledgeable about the place you’ll call home for a few days.
-
Be Safe
Traveling alone or even with just a handful of friends can be scary, especially if it’s a place you’ve never been before. If you’re abroad, make sure to know where your embassy is located in case anything were to happen. Share your location & be cautious of your surroundings.

Have Fun.
Live in the moment. Enjoy your time away & take pictures. Whatever it is that makes you happy, go for it!!
