TEN REASONS TO LEARN A NEW LANGUAGE

They say that language opens a whole new world but how true is it really? Is it truly worth spending hours on duolingo to end up butchering the one sentence you “learned?” Although trying to learn a new language beyond high school may seem like a lost cause, here are reasons why it should be on your 2023 checklist.

Improved communication with people from different cultures.

You know when people get tattoos in a different language thinking it means one thing only for native speakers to laugh and ask why they have “Fried Chicken” written in Chinese characters? Avoid this situation at all costs by taking the time to study a language and connect on a deeper level with natives.

Enhanced job opportunities and career advancement.

You may find yourself appreciating your own accent and way in which sentences and slang is used in your home language.
